Carrie Strachan, Co-Leader
Carrie is a Yoga Alliance 200 ERYT/YACEP and has been teaching yoga since 2006. She has taught many different modalities of yoga, to all ages and abilities in group and private settings. In addition, she has completed her Masters, Leadership and Trauma training certifications. In 2012, she was introduced to Holy Yoga, an international non-profit wellness ministry. In 2015, Carrie joined their leadership team. In her role as the Northwest Regional Director, Carrie developed and honed her leadership skills as she identified, supported and equipped a volunteer team. She planned, led and oversaw monthly team meetings, organized local retreat events and developed social media
platforms to foster community. She took on additional roles, mentoring and serving small groups of women through leadership development training. In 2018, Carrie was offered the opportunity to combine her love of teaching yoga with her growing leadership skills and became a Lead Teacher Trainer for their 225-hour teaching certification program. Her responsibilities included facilitating and delivery of instruction during 9 weeks of online study, monitoring and recording student progress; leading posture breakdowns and demonstrations; observing and providing feedback for student
teaching. Carrie believes that God lead her to that position, to give her the opportunity to integrate her four passions, Jesus, yoga, woman’s spiritual health and wellness.
Carrie graduated with her BA from Pepperdine University, and worked in trust banking until becoming a full-time mom. Having a child with special needs catapulted her into unexpected advocacy and leadership roles. This new calling on her life revealed her love of people and heart caring. Carrie believes that we are all created with a deep desire to be seen, heard and fully loved. We are all created on purpose
and for a purpose by a most colorful God. Carrie delights in coming alongside other woman to encourage hope and healing in Jesus, so that they can confidently step into their unique callings as leaders for God’s kingdom. In 2017, God called Carrie to Kenya with a team from Beyond The Mat Ministries. Although she continues to be called back each year to serve and lead women and children, she returns home each time with a changed heart and deeper knowing of God.
In 2020, Carrie joined Be New. She is excited to partner with her gifted friend, Life Coach Katie Pearson in co-leading women through various Leadership programs and Be New Book Club. Although part of her heart still resides in Boston, where she grew up, after 16 years of living in the pacific northwest Carrie is still in awe of the aesthetic beauty! She parents together with her husband Marc and is mom to four unique gifts from God.
“Peace, it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work, it means to be in the midst of those things and still Be Calm in Your Heart."
